Relationships and Sex Education

Within our Relationship and Sex curriculum we as a school -

 

  • Help support children through their physical, emotional and moral development.
  • Help pupils develop feelings of self-respect, confidence and empathy
  • Create a positive culture around issues of sexuality and relationships
  • Teach pupils the correct vocabulary to describe themselves and their bodies (At Alumwell Infants we use the term ‘private parts’ to describe sexual parts.)

 

Our Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) is firmly rooted in our teaching of Personal, Social & Health Education lessons, during circle time, assemblies and Science lessons.

 

We teach children about the nature and importance of developing mutually supportive relationships. Our Relationship Education helps develop the skills children need to understand differences between people and helps to prevent and remove prejudice by teaching people to love, respect and
